Requirements & Budgets
Six letters and two symbols: AMD, YES!
This build is for Bingbing’s friend and co-worker, Annie. Since Annie ended the relationship with xxx and moved out, she needs a gaming computer. It is mainly focused on providing excellent performance on PUBG. So the goal is to run PUBG at 1440p & 144hz smoothly. 1440p can deliver clearer pictures than 1080p and 144hz is a necessary parameter for FPS and TPS games. And the most important thing is RGB.

CPU, Cooler, & Mobo
All of the prices above are before tax. This build is centered around Ryzen 3600, the newly produced Ryzen 3600 could boost to 4.3Ghz and has better ICM. The wraith prism cooler war purchased from my friend, Hongyang, who owned a Ryzen 3900x. I helped him building that high-end PC in 2019 December. That cooler is very easily installed and can definitely handle Ryzen 3600 with 4 heat pipes. The reason why choosing X470-prime is that X570 is much more expensive and X470 is enough to handle Ryzen 3600 even with PBO mode (AM4 Vcore VRM Ratings).
Memory
Ryzen Zen 2 performs well with memory frequency at 3600~3800 MHz and high memory frequency delivers stable FPS when playing PUBG (the importance of memory frequency).
The Micron C9BJZ-die is pretty popular in geek forums like Chiphell and SMXDIY. In my own Intel build, I have Ballistix Sport LT 3200 MHz C16 8Gb x 4, and I overclocked them at 4000mhz C16. In order to get a stable performance and fewer possible problems, I chose Ballistix RGB with the XMP profile at 3600mhz C16.
Monitor
There are two necessary requirements: 1440p and 144hz. Due to the budget, the best choice is Dell S2719DGF. Although the TN panel can’t deliver nice color and view angle, it is still a good monitor for gaming with 1ms response time and incredibly low input lag (rtings review).
Building
Since the parts did not arrive together, I don’t have photos of all the parts.
Epilogue
In recent years, I built quite a few computers in Regina. This AMD modest build is the cheapest one. Currently, I am using a combo of 9700K@5.0Ghz and RX 5700XT. Bingbing is using Ryzen 2600X plus GTX 1080. For Hongyang Wang, I built two high-end ones, one is centered around Ryzen Threadripper 1950x for scientific computing, and another one is Ryzen 3900X + RTX 2070 Super for 1440p gaming.
